Method Man is coming back to our television screens.
The Wu-Tang rapper has been added to the cast of the “Power” spin-off, “Power Book ll: Ghost.” The Wrap reports that he will reportedly play the role of Davis McLean, a lawyer described by Starz as “brilliant, ethically challenged, and with a few secrets of his own. Davis is drawn into our world on multiple axes, a world riddled with murder and drugs, where the only thing he’s really addicted to is winning.”
50 Cent confirmed the news on Instagram with a screenshot of the article along with a photograph of Method Man in a suit. He captioned the post, “I got Meth getting busy in POWER book 2 it’s lit #lecheminduroi #bransoncognac #abcforlife.”
“Power” creator Courtney A. Kemp first announced the spin-off over the summer at the 2019 Television Critics Association press tour.
“Today we are pleased to announce that we are in pre-production on the first of what we know will be a collection of series inspired by the dynamic world of ‘Power,’” she said. “‘Power Book II: Ghost’ will continue the journey of some of ‘Power ’ s’ most controversial characters.”
According to Variety, 50 Cent called the “Power” sequel “female orientated,” meaning that Naturi Naughton’s character, Tasha St. Patrick, may be coming back for the show. The rapper said on his Instagram that “Power Book 2: Ghost” “starts 48 hours after the finale” of “Power.”
The final season of “Power” is currently airing on Starz. Fans are still trying to figure out who shot Ghost. Paz and Dre have already been cancelled out of being the shooter. There are 3 episodes left and according to Kemp’s interview with Deadline, “the last episodes [of Power] will also give rise to something else.”
Congrats to Method Man on his new role.
