DaBaby will not be charged in the airport scuffle due to new video evidence that shows he was not a participant. The brawl, involving an airport food service employee, was brought up in the rapper’s arrest in Miami last week. However, prosecutors will not file charges against him.
According to TMZ, DaBaby’s attorney, Michael Heiskell, presented the video as evidence to the Tarrant County district attorney, which shows DaBaby steering clear of the fight. The altercation reportedly occurred last month at the Dallas/ Fort Worth International Airport. The district attorney’s office dropped the case against DaBaby on Monday (Jan. 7), after seeing the clip.
The incident was brought up when DaBaby was arrested in Miami last week. He allegedly attacked a concert promoter for shorting him $10,000 on a performance fee and is currently facing a battery charge and possibly one for robbery. The promotor previously said he’s planning to sue the “Suge” rapper.
DaBaby responded to the legal matter on Monday (Jan. 7).
“TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN: PLEASE STOP TALKING TO ME ABOUT THAT WEAK ASS 48 HOURS I SPENT IN JAIL AND THAT FAILED ATTEMPT TO BREAK MY SPIRITS & INTERRUPT THE PATH I’M TAKING TO MY GOD GIVEN SUCCESS,” he wrote on Instagram. “DON’T ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE MISLEAD BY JANKY PROMOTERS AND LAZY ASS GROWN MEN ITCHING FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO FILE A LAWSUIT THAT THEY WON’T WIN.”
“I REMAIN COMPOSED AND FOCUSED KNOWING ALLEGATIONS MADE WITHOUT HONESTY AND INTEGRITY WILL NEVER BE HONORED BY THE MOST HIGH,” his post continued.
DaBaby was held in a Florida jail over the weekend due to a warrant out of Texas for the airpot fight. TMZ reports that the warrant for the airport case was initially approved because at the time, authorities believed DaBaby to be the assailant.
Brushing his brief stint in jail aside, DaBaby is back to work on new music. On Instagram, he encouraged his fans to “kick back, relax and prepare” themselves for a “new wave of music and entertainment.”
