In light of Coronavirus, several graduation ceremonies are being held virtually. Barack Obama is among the many public figures that has stepped in to deliver words of encouragement to the promising graduates.

On Saturday (May 16), Obama will give two addresses. The first speech is scheduled to take place during a live streaming event titled Show Me Your Walk, HBCU Edition, aimed at highlighting graduates from historically black colleges and universities. The event, which is scheduled to take place at 2 p.m. EST on Chase’s YouTube channel, will include guest appearances from Kevin Hart, Steve Harvey, Chris Paul, Debbie Allen, Vivica Fox and more.

As for the second address, Obama will speak during a one-hour event titled Graduate Together: America Honors the High School Class of 2020. The XQ Institute, LeBron James Family Foundation and Entertainment Industry Foundation-hosted event will feature a myriad of guests including LeBron James, Malala Yousafzai, the Jonas Brothers, Yara Shahidi, Bad Bunny, Lena Waithe, Pharrell Williams, Megan Rapinoe, H.E.R., Ben Platt and more. Starting at 8 p.m. EST, the event will be broadcasted on ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC.

Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Obama has used his platform to encourage others to stay safe, sharing articles about the importance of social distancing. “As communities have begun to recognize the importance of social distancing measures to ‘flatten the curve’ on COVID-19 transmission, here’s a sober but useful primer on what we should expect in the coming months,” he wrote alongside a New York Times article about the impact of Coronavirus on several lives.

Next month, Obama will deliver yet another commencement speech with former First Lady Michelle Obama. The YouTube event dubbed Dear Class of 2020 is slated to take place on June 12 and begin at 3 p.m.
