In light of the Coronavirus pandemic, many entertainers are doing their best to lift fans’ spirits while they practice precautionary measures and stay indoors. On Wednesday (March 17), John Legend hosted an at-home concert on his Instagram Live that brought entertainment to those who tuned in.
During his performance, Legend explained his journey to stardom and dished on his upcoming music. Throughout the concert, his wife, Chrissy Teigen, offered her support and stayed by her husband’s side. “They say there might be a corona baby boom after all this, I have music that will help you,” Legend said before the supermodel added her two cents. “I told you I wanted a third baby, you said, ‘No.’”
In support of those staying inside, REVOLT TV listed a group of 13 entertainers we would love to see host at-home concerts. Take a look at them below.
1. Beyoncé
Queen Bey knows how to put on a show worth watching. Throughout her career, Beyoncé has set the bar higher every time that she takes the stage. Since she is known for keeping her personal life low key, it would be interesting to see her give a glimpse into her home life, while doing what she loves.
2. Rihanna
Last year, Rihanna announced that she was dropping her ninth studio album and didn’t follow suit. As a treat to the navy, an at-home concert would be the ultimate gift. During her potential concert, the Bajan singer could preview songs from her upcoming project, which she previously stated would be reggae-infused.
3. Cardi B
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, many people are in a frenzy and are in need of a smile. Luckily, Cardi B has a way of putting those on her fans’ faces. The Bronx native often connects with her supporters through social media, so an intimate at-home concert wouldn’t be too far fetched.
4. JAY-Z
Like his wife, Beyoncé, JAY-Z also keeps a low profile. The last time the New York spitter took the stage was back in April 2019 when he reopened Webster Hall with an epic B Sides 2 concert. Hov concert tickets can be quite difficult to secure, so an at-home concert would have his fans over the moon.
5. Jay Electronica
Fresh off of dropping his debut album, A Written Testimony, Jay Electronica’s fans would love to see a video concert from him. After making fans wait ten years for his debut project, it would only be right to treat them to a surprise. During his performance, Electronica could explain the inspiration behind each song and his work with JAY-Z, who played a major role with the creation of the body of work.
6. Jhené Aiko
Jhené Aiko’s soothing vocals and laid back personality are the key components to a successful concert indoors. Earlier this month, the mother of one dropped her third studio album, Chilombo. If Aiko did put on a show, it would be an early treat to fans. She is expected to hit the road in May 2020.
7. Drake
Anything Drake touches turns to gold. Over the years, he’s invited fans into his personal life. An at-home concert would allow viewers to see the star in a different light that pushes his creativity to the limit.
8. Kanye West
During this heart-wrenching time, Kanye West’s Sunday Service has the potential to lift fans’ spirits. The Chicago native’s wife, Kim Kardashian, often shares small clips of his weekly concert to social media. An video concert from the artist would be the icing on the cake.
9. Chris Brown
With every show that Chris Brown does, his fans leave in a better mood. His shows usually consist of high energy and intense choreography. It would be interesting to see how Chris would organize an at-home concert that caters to all audiences.
10. Megan Thee Stallion
For those who were able to catch Megan Thee Stallion in action on the “Legendary Nights Tour,” they know that she’s a performer. The “Hot Girl Summer” rapper pulled out her best choreography and rapped along to her singles effortlessly. Plus, an at-home concert would give fans the opportunity to hear her spit songs from her latest EP, Suga.
11. Lil Wayne
Following the release of his Funeral album in January 2020, an intimate concert from Lil Wayne is just what fans need. Those who have been to a Weezy show know that the New Orleans native gives his all. In the past, he’s used his Instagram Live to give fans a look into his creative process.
12. T-Pain
Back in the 2000s, T-Pain shaped the sound of music that following generations still respect and emulate. An at-home concert where he performs his chart-topping singles including “Buy U A Drank,” “I’m Sprung,” and more would be amazing. The Florida native could also preview any new music that he’s been working on.
13. Miguel
Miguel’s soothing vocals are like no other. Earlier this month, he shared a video of what appeared to be him in his home, and working on music. In the comments section, fans urged the singer to share more moments like that on social media.
