Unsurprisingly, Drake has another No. 1 album.
Yesterday (Aug. 11), Drake earned his ninth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart thanks to his Care Package LP. Drizzy's latest offering was released to streaming platforms on Aug. 2 and featured popular loosies that never made the final cut to any of his previously released projects. Care Package moved a total of 109,000 equivalent album units in the U.S., according to Nielsen Music. Amazingly, Drake has stayed on top of the charts since 2010 with nine consecutive project placements.
More recently, Drake got new ink to celebrate beating The Beatles' Billboard Hot 100 records. Drizzy's latest ink details The Beatles' iconic Abbey Road cover with an image of Drake waving in front of the group. Champagne Papi's recent song, "Money in the Grave," which features Rick Ross, brought him to a total of 35 Top 10 hits, which beat The Beatles' record of 34.
On Aug. 5, Drake ensured that the final night of his OVO Festival was worthwhile. During his set, Drake treated the audience and performed some of his favorite hits including "Money in the Grave," "Both" and "No Guidance." Throughout the night, the Take Care rapper brought out Meek Mill, Cardi B, Popcaan, Rick Ross and more to perform.
"Thank you to Lil Baby, Da Baby, Popcaan, Gucci Mane, YG, Tyga, Rick Ross, Meg, Cardi and Set, Meek Mill, and Breezy for blessing the city last night!!! I am beyond grateful for all the artists that take time out of their schedules to travel and show so much love!" Drake wrote as his Instagram caption in an effort to show his appreciation.
All the more, on top of Drizzy's recent success, he doesn't show any signs of slowing down anytime soon. This summer, Drake announced that he is in album mode and in the process of "cooking up" new music.
Congrats to Drake on his ninth No. 1 album.
