On Tuesday (April 2), Los Angeles police arrested the man suspected in the homicide of Nipsey Hussle.

According to a new update from the LAPD, the alleged gunman, Eric Holder, is being held in solitary confinement. Early Wednesday (April 3), a judge set his bond for just over $7 million bond.

As reported by TMZ, police made the decision to place Holder in solitary due to the belief he would be a target if he were to be mixed with the general inmate population. The celebrity news site says the 29-year-old Los Angeles native will remain in solitary once he's transferred to the L.A. County Jail while awaiting his trial to begin.

Police confirmed on Tuesday that a tip from a local citizen led to the arrest of Holder, who goes by the street name S---ty Cuz. He was located in Bellflower, California, which is about 20 miles south from Nipsey's Marathon Clothing store where he was fatally shot on Sunday (March 31). Additionally, Holder was reportedly detained outside of a mental health facility, where he allegedly made an attempt to get help.

According to booking records, Holder is currently being housed in the LAPD's 77th street jail where he was transferred after police verified his identity. He will likely make his first court appearance in the next couple of days if and when charges are officially filed against him.

Holder, who is the primary suspect in the slaying, reportedly has a criminal record that includes a 2009 arrest and a charge of domestic battery against the mother of his child. He pleaded down the battery charge by agreeing to complete an anger management treatment and comply with a restraining order. Holder also was arrested in 2012 and charged with carrying a loaded goal. According to court records obtained by The Blast, he was ordered not to "own, use or possess any dangerous or deadly weapons, including firearms, knives or other concealable weapons."

As the investigation into Nipsey's death continues, it was revealed that the Victory Lap rapper was at his clothing store in Los Angeles this weekend in order to help an old friend pick out clothes and celebrate his recent release from prison. This detail further speaks to Nipsey's incredible character and why his legacy will continue to resonate with mourning fans around the world.

Fans are currently working on a petition to rename the Los Angeles intersection of Crenshaw Blvd. and Slauson Ave. in his honor.

At the time of this report, a court appearance for suspect Eric Holder has not yet been scheduled.
