After years of fighting for his freedom, Meek Mill is ready to tell his side this Summer.

On Sunday (March 17), the Championships rapper released the trailer for his upcoming Amazon docuseries, aptly titled "Free Meek," giving fans a first look at his experience with America's broken criminal justice system and his vow to reform it. "I never really looked at it like a nightmare," the 31-year-old says in the clip. "I looked at it as real life for a black kid in America. It's just real life."

Meek has made prison reform a personal mission following his release from state prison in April 2018. The Philadelphia native was sentenced to 2-4 years in November 2017 after riding an illegal dirt bike in New York City, a violation of his parole. Meek had been on parole for over a decade stemming from a gun and drug conviction he received in 2008.

The Amazon-backed docuseries will explore the lives of others "haunted" by the flaws of the criminal justice system, according to Meek. "Free Meek" is reportedly co-produced by Roc Nation and JAY-Z is listed as one of the executive producers, a likely pairing considering their recent joint effort to bring change to the criminal justice system in the United States.

In January, Meek and JAY launched a criminal justice reform organization known as the REFORM Alliance. The purpose of the organization is to advance efforts pertaining to "criminal justice reform and [eliminating] outdated laws that perpetuate injustice, starting with probation and parole."

On Thursday (March 14), Meek was honored in Philly with his own three day weekend based on his advocacy work in criminal justice reform. He was also honored for his contribution to the arts and music. Keep reading to see the trailer for "Free Meek" in full ahead.
