Unfortunately for Soulja Boy, a routine visit to his probation officer did not go according to plan.
Soulja Boy is currently behind bars in Van Nuys, Calif. after police reportedly found ammo and firearms in his home. According to TMZ, the rapper underwent a routine visit to meet with his probation officer on Friday morning (March 15) in the San Fernando Valley, during which he was place under arrest.
As reported, the alleged firearms and ammo recovered from his California residence are a direct violation of his probation. Soulja Boy's initial arrest that led to his being on probation stemmed from a 2011 incident. In 2016, the rapper was caught with a firearm. As a consequence of his violating the terms of his probation several years ago, a judge extended his probationary sentence under the agreement that Soulja would stay away from weapons.
Last month, police utilized a search warrant on the rapper's home following a report he had held a woman hostage in his garage. While Soulja denied the allegation, the police reportedly found ammunition during a search of his home, leading to his eventual arrest on Friday.
According to reports, Soulja Boy is set to appear in court later on Friday to face a judge. He is currently scheduled to perform at a Clippers game Friday evening. While the rapper is confident his situation won't impact his contractual duties, TMZ reports he is currently still being held by authorities.
His current legal woes aside, Soulja Boy continues to live his best life and dedicate his time toward building his own brand up. After Instagram experienced an app-wide outage earlier this week, the rapper used the situation to his advantage, encouraging fans to sign up for his own branded app.
In related news, Soulja also recently squashed his social media-derived beef with Drake. The Toronto superstar extended an olive branch of sorts by way of playfully acknowledging the memes Soulja inspired, explaining how it's all love between the two.
