On Tuesday (March 12), police were called to R. Kelly's home in Chicago over a false report.
According to TMZ, law enforcement received an anonymous tip about a mass suicide happening at Trump Tower in Chicago. The caller told police 21-year-old Azriel Clary, one of R. Kelly's two girlfriends, and four other women were actively planning to carry out a suicide pact. When officers arrived at the scene they reportedly found no evidence of such claims.
Kelly and his lawyers spoke with the officials and "assured them everything was fine," a source told TMZ. The embattled singer and his attorneys were in a meeting at his condo for over two hours for the cops arrived, TMZ reports. No word on who made the false report, but dispatch audio released by the site revealed the call came from the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
The incident comes after weeks of disturbing headlines for Kelly. In February, the 52-year-old was charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse involving four women, of three who were minors at the time. He has been arrested and released twice since then and has entered a not guilty plea.
On Wednesday (March 6), CBS "This Morning" aired his explosive interview with co-host Gayle King in which Kelly denied years of accusations involving him having sexual relationships with underage women.
"How stupid would it be for me, with my crazy past and what I've been through – oh right, now I just think I need to be monster, and hold girls against their will, chain them up in my basement, and don't let them eat, don't let them out, unless they need some shoes down the street from their uncle!" he told King before shouting, "I didn't do this stuff! This is not me. I'm fighting for my f—king life! Y'all killing me with this s—t! I gave you 30 years of my f—king career!"
During a recent interview with Vlad TV, Kelly's former girlfriend, Lisa Van Allen, dropped a disturbing bombshell about the disgraced R&B singer. She alleges Kelly confided in her about his past sexual experiences, including his relationship with the late Aaliyah. According to Allen, Kelly had sex with Aaliyah's mother while the beloved singer was sleeping. Allen also claims the rumors that Kelly got Aaliyah pregnant as a teen were true.
All of this comes on the heels of Kelly's recent criminal charges as he faces up to 70 years in prison if found guilty.
