Women are powerful and should be celebrated every single day of the year. However, the month of March is designated to honoring these amazing figures. Women, as well as girls -- especially women and girls of color -- are often ignored, mistreated, and silenced. This is something that's unfortunately occurred since the beginning of time and we're here to say today, all month, all year, and forever; that it's time for a change.
Being the dynamic, strong, and talented figures that they are; women should be given their just due for everything that they positively contribute to the world as we know it. That's why REVOLT TV is honoring women, as well as young women, who deserve recognition for their hard work. Whether these leading ladies are in the field of politics, music, TV/film, medicine, sports or another; it's time to give them their flowers -- and they better be pretty.
With that being said, here's a list of five women and young women on the rise in their respective career fields, and inspiring words from them. Hopefully, they'll inspire you, too.
A no nonsense congresswoman who's for the people. She's also the youngest Congress member in American history.
"In my opinion, if women and gender-expanding people want to run for office, we can't knock on anybody's doors; we have to build our own house."
The NBA's first black female CEO. She unapologetically leads the Dallas Mavericks.
"I can't just sit on the sidelines. Instead of yelling at the TV, I'm being called into service. I'm doing this for the sisterhood."
A tennis champ who has the world watching her next move -- and serve. She's won two Grand Slams thus far, the first against sports superstar Serena Williams.
"I don't think there is ever going to be another Serena Williams. I think I'm going to be me. And I hope people are O.K. with that."
The first black female pilot in Georgia Air National Guard. Don't cross her.
"Never ever let fear or doubt get in the way of accomplishing your mission."
Hollywood's youngest executive producer -- she's 14! And, yes, she's just getting started.
"I see myself directing, writing, doing my own TV shows and movies. I see myself being a legend! …And I want an EGOT!"
My name is Ambrianna Jackson and I'm 29 years old living in Virginia, working as a chat advisor with Apple iOS. I was born and raised in Asheville, N.C. as an only child. Growing up with no siblings definitely made me an introvert, and very self-sufficient. I was never the type to want help, I get a lot of satisfaction out of figuring things out on my own. A year ago, I stumbled over artwork of different entertainers via IG. I was looking at the artwork and I told myself, "I can do that." YouTube has literally helped teach me how to draw. In the process, it has allowed me to open up and connect with some amazing beings, as well as helped me to crawl out of my shell.
