An NYPD officer is under investigation for allegedly telling other NYPD officers to shoot rapper 50 Cent.

According to TMZ, the feud between Commanding Officer Emanuel Gonzalez and 50 hit new heights in June 2018 when Gonzalez made the comment during roll call at the 72nd Precinct in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. TMZ states that 50 was scheduled to appear at an NYPD boxing match in the Bronx. When Gonzalez was made aware of this, he said, "Shoot him on sight."

The incident wasn't filmed, however, once the statement that Gonzalez tried to pass off as "a joke" made it to police headquarters, a probe was launched.

Just one month before the incident, Gonzalez filed an aggravated harassment complaint against the "Get The Strap" rapper over an Instagram post 50 made in support of popular Brooklyn strip club, Lust, which was shut down by the NYPD in May 2018.

The owner of the club, Imran Jairam, accused the NYPD of unfair targeting after the city shut down Lust and its sister hip-hop club, Love, located in the same building. The shut down of the clubs came shortly after Jairam filed a $125 million claim of notice against the city, the NYPD and the State Liquor Authority. He accused authorities of "selective enforcement" since the clubs opened in 2014.

Jairam claims Gonzalez harrassed him for three years before he demanded Jairam 11 round-trip tickets to Puerto Rico and a generator for a doctor on the island. During the time club Lust was holding various fundraisers for residents affected by Hurricane Maria. After denying the request, Jairam claimed that he continued to be shaken down and targeted.

After the club was closed, celebrities like Cardi B. and 50 Cent spoke out against the shutdown. In the caption of a now-deleted post, 50 wrote, "every time you see NYPD tell them I said they fucking up the summer. LOL get the strap." Because the term "strap" is slang for gun,Gonzalez filed the harassment complaint against the "In The Club" rapper.

In the complaint, Gonzalez claims several of 50 Cent's 18 million followers began posting their own threats against the commander, resulting in 50 to delete the post. After an investigation by the NYPD, no charges were filed against the Queens rapper.

A rep for 50 Cent said the rapper has just been made aware of the "shoot on sight" comment.

"Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward," the statement obtained by TMZ said. "He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun."
