While Kanye West's reputation has shifted since his decision to publicly endorse Donald Trump, one character trait has remained: Ye does what Ye wants. And sometimes, that gets him into trouble.

On Monday night (Dec. 3), the rapper and his wife, Kim Kardashian, attended the opening night of a new musical centered around the life and career of Cher. While attending the Broadway show, West was taken to task for being on his phone by Jarrod Spector, who plays Sonny Bono.

"Hey @kanyewest so cool that you're here at @TheCherShow!" Spector wrote, calling attention to West's behavior from the audience. "If you look up from your cell phone you'll see we're doing a show up here. It's opening night. Kind of a big deal for us. Thanks so much."

In a turn of events, West decided to respond, issuing an apology to the cast and addressing the influence Cher has had on both him and his wife.

"The dynamics of Cher and Sonny's relationship made Kim and I grab each other's hand and sing, 'I got you babe,' he wrote. "Please pardon my lack of etiquette. We have so much appreciation for the energy you guys put into making this master piece."

All in all, we've seen worse come from Ye's social media use. So, when it comes to issuing an apology and putting some respect on Cher's name, we'll happily take it.

The Cher Show is now playing at New York's Neil Simon Theatre.
