Fans react to Cardi B announcing split from Offset

This year has yielded some storms that not all of our favorite celebrity couples could weather, including Cardi B and Offset.

Taking to Instagram late Tuesday (Dec. 4) night, the Invasion of Privacy rapper dropped the bombshell update that after a year of marriage with Offset, the pair have officially parted ways (at least, romantically speaking). Earlier this year, the couple welcomed their first child, Kulture.

"So, everybody been bugging me and everything. And you know, I been trying to work things out with my baby father for a hot minute now," Cardi B says in a serious, somber tone. "And we're really good friends and you know, we're really good business partners. And you know, he's always somebody that I run to, to talk to and we got a lot of love for each other. But, things just haven't been working out between us for a long time."

The rapper insists that it's "nobody's fault," going on to explain that she feels they "grew out of love," but will remain on amicable terms to co-parent their daughter.

Although his comment was as straightforward as could be, Offset himself also weighed in, commenting on Cardi's post. The rapper, who previously got Cardi B's name tattooed on his neck simply added, "Y'all won." Rumors of infidelity have been following the couple for quite some time now with Offset's comment possibly addressing the haters who didn't want to see their relationship thrive.

The news comes as a bit of a surprise for many, especially since confirmation of their split arrives less than a week after Offset reflected on his relationship with Cardi during a rare, intimate interview with The New York Times. In addition to singing her praises, the rapper also hinted at a joint album between the two. Offset is gearing up to release his debut solo album on his 27th birthday, December 14.

Naturally, fans have taken to social media to comment on the dissolution of Cardi B and Offset's highly publicized relationship. Some feel as though it's all a gimmick to build a buzz prior to Offset dropping his album, while others are taking the news in stride (and getting off some ruthlessly comedic bars along the way).
