Donald Glover and Rihanna made headlines this past summer when rumors began surfacing that they were working on an unannounced project together in Cuba. Now, months later, it turns out that the pair was actually filming an entire movie.
As reported, a film called Guava Island was previewed at Glover's PHAROS festival in New Zealand this past weekend.
While official details have not yet been formally shared by Glover himself, a fan in attendance captured footage of the project's trailer.
As seen in the fan footage, the project is credited as "A Childish Gambino Film" and was directed by Hiro Murai. Glover and Murai are longtime collaborators, working together on both "Atlanta" and the music videos for "This Is America" and "Sober."
"We live in paradise, but none of us actually have the time or the means to live here," Glover can be heard saying in the trailer. The hyphenate, who appears to star as a musician of some sort, and Rihanna's character can be seen in various scenes, as they navigate ways to find and finance their passions.
The preview also confirms the film stars Letitia Wright and Nonso Anozie.
