As previously reported, gunshots broke out on the set of a video shoot last week (Nov. 8) where he, Nicki Minaj and Kanye West were working on a visual for a new collaboration. Thankfully, no one was hurt in the shooting. But, the incident forced the video's production to be halted for the time being. Outlets claim that the video shoot has already cost the rapper's label hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Per TMZ, Universal Music Group has dished out $480,000 on the shoot so far. Considering what went down before scenes for the music video could be fully captured, it's likely the label isn't all too happy with the situation.
In fact, considering the hefty investment so far, it appears as though UMG may be abandoning the project.
The budget was already steep due to the interior design of the mansion, which featured colorful, rainbow-tinted windows, an ode to 6ix9ine's trademark hair.
Fortunately, Minaj wasn't onset at the time of the shooting. However, one of the bullets that was fired shattered the window of what was said to be her dressing room, likely playing a factor in the decision to not move forward. It was also reported that West fled the scene immediately following the shooting.
From the shooting incident to the deadly fires currently ravaging California, Ye decided to take a moment to update his fans on how he's doing. "Thank you for everyone's prayers," he wrote the day after the reported gunfire. "Our family is safe and close."
