Milk Studios x Wu-Tang Clan, Crocs x Post Malone
Hip-hop being the most influential and popular genre in the U.S. also translates to sales, with the intersection between music and business being explored in all sorts of ways.
Recently, the Wu-Tang Clan made a surprise offering in the cosmetics world, teaming up with Milk Makeup to debut a limited edition collection of lipsticks.
The collection, which is available now, features eight luxury lipsticks, each of which balances Chinese ingredients with vibrant colors. Each product is named after the eight earthly elements of the I Ching Trigrams and are housed in a specially-made component, revealing a custom-sculpted dragon upon opening. To promote the new line, Teyana Taylor was recruited to model and during the 45-second clip can be seen performing karate on a roof in New York City.
Speaking of the collaboration with Billboard, RZA credited his wife for the idea, citing her background in modeling as being helpful when it came to the inspiration, conception and follow-through.
"She is a fan of Milk Makeup's products, and when [Rassi and I] talked about forming a collaboration that reflected our NYC sensibility, and philosophy makeup became the unique and unpredictable choice," he shared with the publication. "The Milk Makeup collaboration was spearheaded by my wife."

Post Malone also recently debuted a new collaboration with Crocs, although the custom design shoe sold out in 10 minutes flat earlier today (Nov. 2).
The rapper opted for an all-white shoe with his yellow devil baby design. He also debuted six Jibbitz charms, which fasten onto the shoe and allow wearers to customize their look. In fact, Post's collaboration stemmed from a tweet he made back in June saying, "U can tell a lot about a man by the Jibbitz in his Crocs."
Although the collection sold out in mere moments, the company is reassuring fans there will be more where that came from. Keep an eye out for updates via Post's Crocs page here.
On top of those two powerhouse collaborations, Tyler, The Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw has also debuted a special collection with New Era to celebrate the annual affair kicking off next weekend in Los Angeles.
The Flog Gnaw exclusive features three different hat designs in a variety of colors, including a brown fedora, trucker snapbacks and bucket hats. The fedora sells for $80 while the other two hats are going for $40.
The two-day festival, which runs Nov. 10-11, features performances from Tierra Whack, Kids See Ghosts (Kanye West and Kid Cudi), Lauryn Hill, SZA and more.
