Much to the delight of fans, Tyler, the Creator will once again be taking over television screens across the nation. As reported by The Hollywood Reporter, the rapper has inked a new first-look deal with Sony Pictures Television.
Through the deal, which also also includes his longtime collaborator Lionel Boyce, the pair will be helping develop projects for television and digital properties. According to the announcement, that will include both scripted and unscripted series.
"Sony Pictures Television has been a hub for great television for many decades and we're excited to be a part of a place where we will have the resources to develop new ideas," Boyce shared in a statement.
Tyler himself also chimed in, adding, "Tacos are great with bar-b-que sauce, I'm excited."
Jeff Frost, the president of Sony Pictures Television, echoed the more serious statement of Boyce, adding: "To be partnering with the creative genius of Tyler, the Creator and Lionel Boyce is a dream come true for us as we've long been fans of their work. Tyler's unconventional ingenuity is unparalleled, and we are excited about the prospect of what we can create together."
Previously, Tyler, the Creator made his mark with television projects such as Adult Swim's Loiter Squad and The Jellies.
In music news, the rapper's most recent single, an instrumental titled "FAWN," arrived last month; following the release of "SPRINT," "PUFF" and "BUCKET." The song is the original instrumental from "Fucking Young/Perfect" (by Gap Tooth T) from this 2015 album, Cherry Bomb, with Tyler sharing explicit instructions to blogs not to refer to the new drop as a "remix" or "different version."
Next up for Tyler, the Creator is the 2018 edition of Camp Flog Gnaw, set to take place Nov. 10-11 in Los Angeles. SZA, Pusha T, Post Malone, Ms. Lauryn Hill, Playboi Carti and A$AP Rocky, among others, are scheduled to perform.
