Drake undeniably has played a pivotal role in shaping music streaming culture as we've come to know it today, making his latest digital accolade not all that surprising.
In celebration of the streaming giant's ten-year anniversary, Spotify broke down its history by the numbers, revealing that Drizzy is the platform's most-streamed artist. Currently, the Toronto native is ahead of artists such as The Weeknd, Rihanna, Ed Sheeran, Justin Bieber, Eminem and Kanye West, among others.
According to Spotify, the company currently has 180 million monthly active users across 65 countries with over 40 million songs and podcasts currently available on the service.
Spotify also revealed the most-streamed songs of all time, which is topped by Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" followed by Drake's "One Dance," and The Chainsmokers and Halsey's collaborative track "Closer." Post Malone and 21 Savage's "rockstar" comes in fourth, followed by Ed Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud."
Drake currently holds the record for the largest single week debut for an album in the United States with Scorpion racking up an impressive 745.9 million on-demand audio streams in its first week.
