As viewers took to Twitter to share live updates and reactions from Tuesday night's American Music Awards (Oct. 9), in true award show fashion, it's evident one reunion in particular stole the whole show.

During the star-studded affair, which was hosted by the one and only Tracee Ellis Ross, Ciara took to the stage to perform a rendition of her "Level Up" remix with none other than Missy Elliott joining in on the fun.

In addition to Missy accompanying Ciara and a group of dancers, with both artists showing off their impressive dance moves for the bright-eyed award show audience, it turns out there also was a special guest in attendance. Yup, much to the delight of fans, Missy brought along her "funky white sister" to enjoy the performance from the crowd as well, adding to the feel-good nature of the firework-adorned evening.

As fans may recall, the iconic recording artist previously got to meet the superfan, Mary Halsey, who went viral over the summer after posting a video of herself performing "Work It" online, during an appearance on Ellen.

It has been over a decade since either Ciara and Missy performed at the AMAs, making their reunion that much more of a cause for celebration. In addition to performing the "Level Up (Remix)", Ciara also performed "Dose" while being accompanied by a decked out marching band.

Cardi B also performed last night, running through her Invasion of Privacy hit, "I Like It Like That" alongside collaborators J Balvin and Bad Bunny.
