The two performers hit the road together, during what was billed as a joint tour. However, the G.O.O.D Music singer became fed up with, in her words, "doing everything" to make the tour a success just for her collaborator to refer to her as an opening act, not a joint headliner.
After remaining mum on the situation following news breaking that the tour wouldn't proceed according to plan, Taylor chose to open up during a recent interview on The Real (Sept. 18).
During the sit-down, the 27-year-old explains how she felt she was "extremely mistreated" during the tour run, resulting in her choice to take matters into her own hands.
"We were both on tour together and I was doing everything, the promotion," she shared. "And he did little to none like any promo, so it was just like, when we got there and the concerts were sold out and different things like that. It was like when we got there, everything was Jeremih. His name was on everything, like, my name wasn't even on the ticket."
She then further detailed how she took issue with how the shows were presented in actuality, especially considering it was billed and treated as a co-headlining opportunity on her end.
"I'm working my behind off and you call me your opener during one of the shows but then go on radio and say, 'But I got love for her, you know, it's all love,' and try to make it seem like you're taking the high road," she continued. "It's like no because if you had love for me, you would have never tried to play me live."
Following getting wind of Jeremih's comments during one of the tour's accompany press runs, Taylor decided to end the joint tour.
"When he said what he said, that's when I kind of pressed him about it over text," she explained. "This is when we were in Toronto, so he kind of admitted that he did say it. I was like, 'You know what? This tour is done.' He said, 'Let's just let it be done.' My thing is, if I'm just the opener, I shouldn't have the power to say that this tour is done. So you already knew what I brought to the table, regardless. It was like, don't try to play me."
And there you have it. Take a look at Teyana Taylor touching on the recent conflict with Jeremih, below.
