For the latest installment of Behind the Moment, REVOLT's exclusive series dedicated to exploring the story behind major moments in pop culture, we caught up with some of the West Coast's finest to learn more about what goes into making a proper music video (and one with a budget of $100,000, no less).

Back in December 2017, DJ Mustard and RJMrLA (formerly known as MrLA) dropped some heat they had been working on to close the year out on a proper footing, releasing a joint project titled The Ghetto. Featuring production handled solely by Mustard himself, the collaborative album spans eleven tracks and features an array of guests including YG, Rae Sremmurd, Ty Dolla $ign, O.T. Genasis, Greedo and more.

One of the standout tracks was undeniably the powerhouse collab, "Hard Way," featuring Rae Sremmurd, with the four-minute-long banger showcasing how brilliantly and organically the smooth sounds and differential stylings of the track's creators merge together.

While RJ, who is currently in the running for XXL's 2018 Freshman Class, trades verses with the brotherly duo of Slim Jxmmi and Swae Lee, Mustard fittingly weaves in a unique flute riff that helps tie it all together. The track encompasses an ebb and flow between laid-back and braggadocious vibes, making for the perfect soundtrack to pair with an accompanying visual on par with the song's lavish feel.

With no shortage of cash, Henny or special guests on set in Los Angeles, with the likes of DJ Carisma, comedian Haha Davis and 4Hunnid Summers' own YG each making cameos, RJ graciously walks us through the making of his latest music video, explaining how Marley Marl came into play, what working with Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi taught him and how he's returning his focus back on making quality records.
