Kendrick Lamar fans will be treated to another way to celebrate the rapper and his many achievements, this time in the form of a new biography.

Earlier Thursday (March 22) writer and editor Marcus J. Moore took to Twitter to share the exciting news that he has signed a new book deal, tackling the cultural biography of the beloved Compton rapper.

"Some big news I've been eager to share: I've signed with @TouchstoneBooks to write the cultural biography of Kendrick Lamar," the announcement reads. "My book, 'The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America,' will detail his rise to rap superstardom."

Moore, who currently works as a senior editor at Bandcamp, spoke with Pigeons and Planes to share more details about the forthcoming biography.

"My book details the artist's coming of age as an MC, how he helped resurrect two languishing genres (bebop and jazz), his profound impact on a racially fraught America, and his emergence as the bonafide King of Rap," he explained. "It details how his story directly connects to the charged spirits of art and revolution. Ultimately, the biography explores the broad global impact of Mr. Lamar and his work."

Additionally, Moore confirmed that Lamar's camp is aware of the book deal, and judging from the fact he has interviews scheduled "with people in and around the environment in which he grew up, as well as those who've helped him create music along the way," it seems as though the project is being supported as well.

"He's never forgotten where he's come from and I think that's honorable," Moore added. "He's also a conflicted soul who's always looking to improve, and is never satisfied with the status quo. He shapes culture and music in a way no other lyricist has. As a a big fan of his work, I want to shed adequate light on the man behind the music while giving proper context to his art."

A release date for The Butterfly Effect: How Kendrick Lamar Ignited the Soul of Black America has not yet been announced.
