On Friday (March 2), radio host, show promoter and artist manager Anaida Duran, better known by her alias AD The General, was killed in a fatal car accident after losing control of her vehicle at the height of this weekend's Nor'easter storm.
Her family, devastated by the loss, is seeking as much information as possible as to how the horrific accident happened. As reported, after losing control of her vehicle, her Nissan struck several parked cars and a tree before bursting into flames.
"I don't know what happened with that accident," AD's grandfather, Pablo Medina, shared with the New York Daily News. "I want to know what happened."
The family has already begun planning her services as hundreds from the hip-hop community have shared emotional messages in tribute to the late promoter on her public Facebook page.
"She was a good girl. She does promotions, rap music. That was her job," Medina added.
In addition to being involved heavily with the hip-hop community throughout her professional life, as a young girl AD The General was a member of the "Toxic Avengers of El Puente," a group of environmental activists who fought to close down a radioactive waste facility in Williamsburg in the early 90s, further speaking to her generous and selfless spirit.
