Sade, who hasn't released new music alongside her band since 2010's Soldier of Love, is breaking her hiatus for one special reason: to support Ava DuVernay's latest creation, A Wrinkle in Time.

DuVernay broke the exciting news earlier Tuesday (Feb. 20), confirming that the famed singer-songwriter is coming out of retirement to create an original song for the forthcoming film's soundtrack, which is set to arrive on the same date as the movie itself, on March 9.

"I never thought she'd say yes, but asked anyway," the acclaimed director wrote on Twitter. "She was kind + giving. A goddess. We began a journey together that I'll never forget. Proud to announce that Sade has created an original song for WRINKLE IN TIME. It's entitled 'Flower of the Universe.' And it's a dream come true."

In addition to announcing Sade's contribution, DuVernay also confirmed that Demi Lovato, DJ Khaled, Sia, Chloe + Halle and Kehlani are also featured artists, with each working alongside the direction of composer Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, etc.).

The film, which is based on the novel by Madeline L'Engle, stars Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Mindy Kaling and more.

The reported budget for A Wrinkle of Time exceeds $100 million, making DuVernay the first Black woman to direct a live-action film with a budget of that size. Needless to say, DuVernay is gearing up to make history, and it sounds as though she's crafted the perfect soundtrack to accompany her incredible vision.
