Super Bowl Sunday has now arrived, with the big game set to kick off at 6:30PM ET.

While Justin Timberlake is readying his halftime performance, which is now reportedly going to go down without the addition of a Prince hologram, many are taking to Twitter to show Janet Jackson some love.

The superstar singer has confirmed that she will not be performing at the Super Bowl this year, with her statement arriving after fans pressed her to comment on the rumors she'd be reuniting with Timberlake over a decade after the infamous "wardrobe malfunction" incident.

Although Jackson will not be taking to the stage as part of this year's Super Bowl, her fans are flooding Twitter with throwback photos and GIFs honoring her excellence and celebrating her many contributions to the music industry. Others are also using the hashtag to blast the mainstream media for being quicker to forgive Timberlake following the "nipplegate" controversy and to remind folks how she was blacklisted from many major cable networks at the time.

After the incident in 2004, Jackson lost the opportunity to perform at the Grammys the following Sunday despite Timberlake still being allowed to perform, a moment in pop culture history that is as infuriating now as it was back then.
