Snoop Dogg is no stranger to diversifying his brand and his sound. As exemplified by the reggae-inspired Reincarnated and his experiments in funk and disco on Bush, the West Coast legend is once again switching things up, this time by way of trying his hand at a gospel record.

While the concept has been a reoccurring subject of conversation as of late, Snoop has now finally confirmed that 2018 will see the release of his first-ever foray into gospel, Snoop Dogg Presents the Bible of Love.

"It's always been on my heart. I just never got around to it because I always be doing gangsta business or doing this or doing that," he explained, confirming the news during a recent appearance on Dr. Dre's Beats 1 radio show. "I just felt like it's been on my heart too long. I need to do it now."

The veteran rapper then goes on to further elaborating, adding that Faith Evans helped further inspire him to move forward with the idea.

"Me, Faith Evans, we talked about it heavily," Snoop divulged, reflecting on a recording session they had while working on their Notorious B.I.G. tribute, "When We Party."

"She feel like she wanna get down with me," he elaborated. "All of the people that I know, from Charlie Wilson to Jeffrey Osborne, whoever I want to get down with. I'm gonna make it all the way right. It's gonna feel good."

To help further promote the forthcoming project and show off his versatile talent, Snoop is slated to perform alongside Evans, The Clark Sisters, Tye Tribbett and Rance Allen at the 2018 NFL Super Bowl Gospel Celebration on Feb. 1.
