Lyst’s Year in Fashion report recaps the major trends happening within the fashion world. Released this week, the 2017 edition features categories rankings things like the most popular colors, prints and footwear. Comfortably situated alongside the likes of several models, a first lady and a princess, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made it onto the Most Powerful Celebrity Fashion Influencer of the Year portion of the Year in Fashion.
Rihanna, who just launched her Fenty Beauty beauty brand and has a successful partnership with PUMA, was crowned king of the celebrity influencer chart, while A$AP Rocky, who has had deals in place with Dior, Guess Jeans, Under Armour and Nike, locked in the No. 7 slot. Based off the influence and impact they have on consumers’ shopping and search habits, Bad Gal Riri and Pretty Flacko are good for business, according to Lyst’s year-end highlight reel. “To name and rank the most influential celebrities in fashion, we monitored the spikes in demand created by 50 global superstars during the course of 2017, by looking at search and sales response to some of their most talked-about outfits,” read Lyst’s website.
To compile the data needed to complete such an extensive breakdown of all of the trends in fashion, Lyst, who had over 80 millions users of its platform in 2017, is said to have “tracked more than 100 million searches; crunching the queries, page views and sales data across 5 million fashion products from 12,000 designers and stores.”
