Margiela's SS18 women's collection was inspired by everyday glamour

This season, John Galliano's vision for the Maison Margiela woman was more attainable than ever (even if its price point still isn't). The designer was inspired by a new kind of glamour - that of the everyday woman.

Despite the collection's down-to-earth inspiration, Galliano still indulged in a penchant for fantasy in detailed embellishments and extravagantly deconstructed (and then reconstructed) garments.

"We set out to propose and further explore the idea of a new glamour that seduces us in our everyday lives," the brand shared with Vogue. Galliano also took cues from travel, presenting an oversized pillow bag that was a fashionably ironic twist on the standard airport affair.

Grooming and hair also fell in line with the theme: Models strutted down the runway with disheveled bed hair and quietly chic makeup from guru Pat McGrath.
