The nominations are in for the 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards, and three rap acts are tied in the lead for a total of nine award nominations. Kendrick Lamar and DJ Khaled are both established stars who may be expected to reign over the BET Hip Hop Awards, but the third act tied for nine nominations is Cardi B, who has taken the rap world by storm in 2017. She stopped by The Breakfast Club today to chop it up with Angela Yee, DJ Envy and Charlamagne tha God.

"Hey y'all," shouted Cardi B as she jumped off the interview. After being congratulated on her nine 2017 BET Hip Hop Awards nominations - including Single of the Year, Best New Artist, and Best Hip Hop Video - the Bronx native discussed recent successes, a possible album delay and how she met Offset.

"Timing is everything" is a concept that Cardi has been reminded of a lot lately. Her debut album was expected to hit retailers "next month" after she made the announcement during her performance at the Made In America festival. But it seems now like she's considering pushing the release of the album back.

"You just change your mind all the time. I might have ten songs that I think is popping, then one week later I do another song and I'm like 'Is it this one?' Then I have to have so many other people hear it," said Cardi, who repeatedly added that she's intent on proving that her music career isn't a gimmick.

Accompanied by her boyfriend Offset, Cardi dodged questions involving whether she's in love or not. She did however speak on where the two blazing hot rap stars first made their connection. "I met him in a party," she said before changing the subject. Another subject she was hesitant to say too much about was her rumored beef with Nicki Minaj.

When asked if her scene-stealing verse on G-Eazy's latest single "No Limit" was aimed at the "Roman's Revenge" rap star, the BX bombshell said, "People don't understand, I got like beef with ten bitches still in the hood, and I still be in the hood." She did, however, admit that her and Minaj have spoken.
