Earlier this year, fans went through the various stages of denial when André 3000 revealed that he now views rap music as more of a hobby to him.

While the 42-year-old has built a reputation for himself as both an iconic emcee and an actor over the years, news that he just landed a starring role in a new sci-fi film further showcases the reality that the OutKast visionary is continuing his transition away from hip-hop.

As reported, 3 Stacks will be co-starring in a new movie titled High Life alongside Robert Pattinson, Mia Goth, Lars Eidinger and Juliette Binoche. According to Variety, the film revolves around convicted criminals who are offered a reduced sentence if they embark on a dangerous mission to a black hole in order to help discover a new energy source.

André 3000 has starred in a handful of movies and TV shows over the years, including the Jimmy Hendrix biopic Jimi: All Is by My Side, Four Brothers, Semi-Pro, Charlotte's Web (as a voice actor), Battle in Seattle and more, most often acting under his government name André Benjamin.

The film, which doubles as acclaimed French director Claire Denis' English-language feature film debut, is currently filming, with the project yet to reveal a tentative release date.
