It's been three years since Jhene Aiko dropped her debut album Souled Out and since then she's ventured out of solo artistry and into collaborative territory as one-half of TWENTY88, her duo with boyfriend Big Sean.

And while he's already confirmed that we can expect a second album from the team, following their self-titled debut, Aiko on her own has just announced her sophomore effort, too.

Def Jam, the singer's label, took to Instagram yesterday to share a recent interview between Aiko and Playboy for its 2017 Music Issue in which she revealed the title and inspiration behind her upcoming project.

The author wrote that Aiko was "so inspired by her travels...that she turned her upcoming album...into a map." Continue reading below.

Aiko said, "I'm a bit of an escape artist. I like to take myself out of my element and create. I went to Hawaii by myself and hiked. When you connect with nature, you connect with yourself."

Titled TRIP 17, Aiko explained about the album, "It's inspired by every type of trip you could imagine: mental, physical, even psychedelic. I'm at a point where I put it all in the music. It's a puzzle I want people to put together."

Outside of TWENTY88, Aiko has recently released one-off singles including "Maniac," "While We're Young," and a collabo with 6LACK titled "First F—k." No word yet on if those will appear on TRIP 17.
