Ed Sheeran ‘borrowed’ this melody from TLC and this mash-up makes it undeniable

Leave it to the internet to keep you honest. Had numerous people on social media not pointed out the similarities between Ed Sheeran’s “Shape Of You” and TLC’s “No Scrubs,” the industry may have turned a blind eye to this whole debacle. But thankfully, they noticed, commented and the following group made a mash-up cover that takes out all the guesswork.

To further implicate this whole fiasco on Ed Sheeran’s side, his team quickly added the writers of TLC’s “No Scrubs” to his hit song's credits. Now, Kandi Burruss, Tameka Cottle and producer Kevin Briggs are all cited. Tameka Cottle took to Instagram to confirm.

First, she posted this clip of her dancing to the song while in Mexico:

Although, this seems to have been resolved, Ed Sheeran has had a few other issues with copyrights, and has even been sued. Even though Ed Sheeran and his team didn’t release a statement about this, their actions were more than meaningful.
