President of Young Money, Mack Maine says his team is coming and they’re going to be inescapable in 2017. Chief among The goals are to put out a album apiece by Drake and Nicki Minaj and as for Lil Wayne, the legendary performer may be going into music overload. Weezy — if he can settle his business differences with the Birdman and Universal records — wants to put out a slew of music, highlighted by three LPs. The much anticipated Tha Carter V, The Funeral, which he’s been hinting at publicly and an opus the public hasn’t heard about before, Velvet.
Mack says all three Wayne albums have three distinctive feels.
Wayne also has formed a group with Young Money vet Gutta Gutta and new Dallas signee Hoodybaby called “L.A.T. ” that’s short for Loyalty Amongst Thieves (Gutta and Hoody also have solo mixtapes coming out). They’ve been working on a project and just yesterday on Facebook, Weezy also big upped The next installment from his DJ Drama Gangsta Grillz installment of mixtapes, Dedication 6.
REVOLT caught up with Mack recently while he was in Miami, on the video set of “Chico,” a new video by another new Young Money artist Roy Demeo. The song and the video features Wayne.
“We wanna get that Carter V out,” Mack began to tell of his company’s plans. “Wayne also has a dope project called Velvet. We want to get that out. Drake dropping top of the year. Nicki got some features that — I’ve been in the studio with her lately — that she’s just killing. She also gonna be working on her solo project and she’s dropping. We also have L.A.T. which is Wayne, Gutta and HoodyBaby. They going Bananas. Demeo dropping his mixtape top of the year, Kingpin… We got some shit in the chamber for y’all man. We gonna be all over your radio, all over your TV screen. If you got any problems with us, you not gonna be able to avoid us.”
And that’s not all. YM also has new singer Baby E. His new single is called “Bando” and features Wayne and Hoodybaby. That song is the first release off of E’s Kill The Noise mixtape which is out now. Other new talent from the camp we should be hearing in 2017 are group Vice Versa and Latina artist Stephanie.
