Rhymefest purchases longtime friend Kanye West's childhood home for charity

A friend of Kanye West's since the age of 15 and the co-writer behind his Grammy-winning "Jesus Walks" and -nominated "New Slaves" hits, rapper Rhymefest announced over the weekend that he purchased his longtime friend and collaborator's childhood home.

As the creative director of Donda's House, Kanye's non-profit organization named after his late mother, Rhymefest bought the house for the charity, saying it will be used as a "community arts incubator" and will include a studio and museum.

He wrote:

"I'm excited to announce the purchase of Kanye's childhood home as a community Arts incubator. It will be the first of our Nationwide Lite-Houses. A state of the art recording studio, a curriculum space for @dondashouse and southside music museam. We want to show bright spots in communities thatve been divested from, we know more Lights exist here, they just need to be activated.
