In the latest chapter of the Lil Wayne vs. Cash Money saga, word is that Lil Wayne is behind the delay of The Carter V.

According to sources for TMZ, despite being held up in label hell, Lil Wayne is the person holding up the release of the album at the center of all the drama, Carter V. Sources "connected to Birdman" told the website that Wayne is in possession of the physical recording of the album and is refusing to turn it over to the label. So essentially, Wayne is reportedly holding up the release until he gets his money. In other words, money first, album second.

Lil Wayne is undefeated, not retired, and has no plans of working with Birdman

In 2014, Wayne filed a lawsuit against Cash Money for $51 million with hopes of ending his contract with the label. There is also reportedly an $8 million advance that he said he is owed for work on the still-unreleased album, plus another $2 million for its completion.

On Tuesday (September 13), the "Fireman" rapper appeared on Skip Bayless' new FS1 program "Undisputed" and confirmed that he would never work with his former mentor again.
