Welp, talk about awkward.

Adele performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles over the weekend, where she set the record straight on a few rumors. As far as the pregnancy chatter, the 28-year-old singer revealed she was not pregnant. ("Of course I'm not pregnant.") As for the running speculation about a potential performance at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show, she revealed that an offer was presented. However, as she put it, "I did say no."

"I'd like to tell you I'm not doing the Super Bowl," she said. "I mean, come on. That show is not about music, and I don’t dance or anything like that. They were very kind, they did ask me, but I did say no." But before the news of Adele declining a Super Bowl performance offer could even make it to Monday morning, both the National Football League and halftime show sponsor released a joint statement last night (August 14) denying ever putting an official offer on the table for the "Hello" songstress.

"The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl halftime show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else. We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."

Still, despite stating that they never "extended a formal offer," that does not mean a conversation about a potential performance wasn't initiated between Pepsi and the NFL with Adele's team. But since the topic is in the air, what about Kanye? Since the Adele news hit news outlets, the hashtag #KanyeWestForSuperBowl51 took over social media by storm.

The Super Bowl is set to go down in Houston at the NRG Stadium on February 5, 2017.
