The last few months haven't been without their challenges for M.I.A.

Late last year, she released her politically charged, migrant crisis-inspired video for "Borders." And in May, she announced an upcoming album (then titled Matahdatah), but said she wouldn't be able to promote it in the U.S. due to her lack of visa. Just a week after that, she threatened to leak it. And earlier this month, she was boycotted once revealed to be the headliner of London's inaugural Afropunk festival. But now, it appears her album rollout is back on track.

Today, M.I.A. updated her website to share a text written by Sinthujan Varatharajah — it addresses the treatment of asylum seekers around the world — and closed the post with a release date reveal for her first single, the Skrillex-produced "Go Off" (due tomorrow), as well as the drop date for her fifth LP, now-titled A.I.M.: September 9.

The rapper also shared imagery for this new era, but no word on if it'll serve as the album artwork.
