Kymmi Cee // REVOLT
Alton Sterling is the 558th person, and 135th African American, killed at the hands of police this year.
According to The Guardian, the 37-year-old father of five who was gunned down by police outside a convenience store in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, after selling CDs, is the latest statistic in what has become a plague of police brutality against minorities in America. To make matters worse, the fatal shooting was caught on video, sparking outrage around the country as the latest trail of blood on the concrete mirrors that of previous incidents that involved other black men killed on camera by cops, such as Eric Garner, Oscar Grant, Laquan McDonald and Walter Scott.
Because this is such a distinctive issue that only continues to build after each and every publicized incident (with a slew of others that fall under the media scope), the feelings of anger, outrage and frustration were thick as the summer's heat today, with many sounding off on social media. While this is typically the case for just about every news report, the sentiments shared by rappers Fabolous, Game, Big Pooh, Meek Mill, and Tip, as well as activists like Jesse Williams were necessary , as they each shared their personal perspectives on not just the incident but the repetition of such events.
It saddens me that 5 kids are growing up without their father. 2 white Police Officers killed Alton Sterling while he was standing outside a store selling CD's. These officers got a call that a man was outside the store with a gun but for some reason the officers were wearing Body Cam's that weren't connected & recording. Wrestled him down to the ground with no warrant to do so & shot him in the chest & back!! When is America & the judicial system that's suppose to protect us, gonna make these officers who are killing black men take responsibility for what's going on. This is literally getting away with MURDER & it continues to happen #RipAltonSterling
All we gone do is repost it & type "SMH" over & over again huh ?? Then we gone put #JusticeForAltonSterling & #BlackLivesMatter hashtags on Instagram & pretend that's us taking action huh ??? What happened to the generation of people who stood together, held hands & took to the streets peacefully or violently if it had to come to that & wouldn't move or be detoured from that stance until real results were handed over to us ?!?!? Huh ??? WTF is wrong with us these days that we will sit here & watch a video of yet another innocent man shot & killed in cold blood by police officers in this country ?!?!? WTF is wrong with ME, YOU & everyone else who will watch the video & read this caption & DO NOTHING until it happens again... Then what we gone do ?? The same shit we been doing... Hashtag #JUSTICEFOR[insert name here__________] & #BLACKLIVESMATTER when it really seems that they don't at all... & if #BLACKLIVES don't even matter to #BLACKPEOPLE why the fuck would they matter to anyone else ?!?!?!? What on earth is wrong with US ?!?!?!? But lemme stop so we can get back to turning up, dab'n & hittin "them folks" while this man lay dead in a county morgue for selling some fucking CD's & asking what he was being detained for ?!!?!?!?!? NAW, fuck this....... WE AINT HAVIN THIS SHIT NO MORE !!!!!!!!!!! #THETIMETOFIGHTBACKISNOW !!!!! #MartinLutherKing got shot on a fuckin balcony because he wasn't scared to stand up for our parents, grandparents & US.... The reason our black asses can even do 1/2 the shit we do is because that man sacrificed his life along with many others so we could..... & we ain't even got enough heart to stand together as a RACE & pay them back !!!! #IMNOTSCARED #FAKECARINGASSGENERATION #WHOELSEOUTTHEREGONEFAKECARE ??? #WEAINTGONEDOSHITBUTREPOSTANDHASHTAG #SCARYASSRACE #AMERICAREMOVED

"So where do we go from here? Really. How do we make real change? Don’t tell me another march. Don’t tell me another petition. Don’t tell me another hashtag. How do we make real change?
_"I wanted to believe in those voted into public office. Somebody gave their life for my right to vote. I am then forced to watch as many get into office and can easily be purchased. Every one is for sale, and if they can’t buy you out, they will force you out. I want to believe in the judicial system but how can you believe in a system where some judges are receiving kick backs for sentencing youth and giving people of color max sentences for petty crimes, if they committed any crime at all. We have watched them continue to cut school budgets that mainly affect lower income communities and schools, only to see them spend billions on more prisons. Now, everyday we wake up, we are viewing someone’s cell phone footage of life being taken away in cold blooded murder by those sworn to serve and protect the very same communities they pillage.
"It’s crazy that a whole fraction of us, Americans, wonder if we are going to make it home at night. We don’t fear erratic drivers. We don’t fear random acts of violence in random places. We don’t fear many health concerns. We fear a system that was never designed for us to survive in. The government is a part of that system. The banks are a part of that system. The courts are a part of that system. Those sworn to protect and serve are a part of that system. I don’t care how distracted they try to keep you, if you don’t see it, it’s because you choose not to." via Medium
I'm so proud to see my 15 yr old son post this. Let's me know he's still listening even when I think he isn't. Even HE CAN SEE how crooked & slimy this system of injustice is towards OUR BLACK MEN. I'm tired of asking America for shit the Constitution says that we have a right to,& Beyond that,we have a God given right to...Basic treatment of decency, respect, equality,& justice. I'm disgusted not only at America and how they treat us but also at myself & my people at the lack of action being taken against our oppressors. It's not time to hashtag & repost,it's time to unify, mobilize & initiate strategies to end the War that has been declared on US by the powers that be in this country. The very authorities & public servants that were appointed to protect US are being used to exterminate US. My prayers & condolences go out to the family of #AltonSterling🙏🏽 You guys deserve so much more than any amount of conciliation you're being offered. You deserve the father, the husband,& the loved one u had & that was taken from you by some cold blooded murderers shielded by a badge & a uniform. #JusticeforAltonSterling #AmerikkkaAintShit #TheyNeverGaveAFuckAboutUS
Just imagine what the police report said before they knew This was recorded... What a coincidence they saying the body cams did not work, it's sad! I was found guilty of pointing a gun at the 2 strike force officers in the middle of a full blown raid.... They came at least 7 cops at one time and not a single shot fired! This was b4 cameras was available... I take these situations serious when I see so many of my people losing their lives and freedom to the people they say are suppose to protect us!i got 16 years of probation for being lied on and back and forth to jail under strict supervision has made my life a living hell dealing with the system! Just imagine the people that don't have a voice! Something has to happen soon .... It can't just be social media post and conversations when they continue to destroy us like this! #imreadytostandup
I wish somebody post the police report of what they actually accuse that man of! This is my police report they actually charged me with assault because the cop said I injured his hand! But my mugshot clearly says he injured his hand from punching me in my face .... It's hard to read but 😳open ya eyes! Also "NENA HARTH" was also arrested just for walking past during the raid and ended up doing 2 years in jail stripped of her freedom and taken away from her kids for no reason at all! A lady I never seen in my life! She did more time than me for absolutely nothing her family members might even comment on this post! They say I had a stand off with guns pointed at each other like a movie!!!! It's almost baffling reading this police report!
1) In the interest of time, would ye noble patriots please provide a list of infractions punishable by spontaneous public execution? Thanks!— jesseWilliams. (@iJesseWilliams) July 6, 2016
2) Upon receipt of this list, we'll return to our quarters and study up, eager to enjoy freedoms of white mass murders. #LIFEHACK— jesseWilliams. (@iJesseWilliams) July 6, 2016
3) You chumps will NEVER provide this list... We see through you.— jesseWilliams. (@iJesseWilliams) July 6, 2016
What the government is doing amongst our people is downright disturbing but not surprising. With all of the conflict and propaganda, I believe they are simply trying to start a civil war within the USA amongst black & white. They are simply pushing us to our limit so that we can all get together and rebel so that it makes it easier for them to kill us (black people mostly and anyone who acts out against them). Alton Sterling and those alike are happening everyday in this country. The scary part is MOST of these stories don't make it to the news and reach the mass consciousness. It is for sure time that we as a people stand up for human rights and rebel against the system unapologetically. I just want everyone to be cautious about how they go about it because this is all a part of the governments plan... They are literally begging for this to happen so they can kill us off faster using uprising and rebellion as the excuse.. The cancerous foods, the chemical warfare, and the economic suffering is not working fast enough for them. They are many steps ahead of us in manifesting the future that they want for this country. We have to work together in not only battling them on a physical plane but to outsmart them on an intellectual mental level. As black and low income people, I think our gangs need to do a better job at protecting our communities and not assisting in destroying them. Who do we call when the police break the law?? We are so quick to pick up a gun and kill one another but not quick enough to pick it up and protect one another for our human rights. The code words to killing black men by police is "he has a gun!" That gives them the rights and incentives to shoot and most of the time it's just a cellphone, wallet or a downright lie!. But what about them? They all got guns so what should we do because it's always been clear that they don't value our lives and that they want to harm us. My people are suffering and it's been way too long. I'm tired of people acting like this isn't happening and I'm tired of putting up these hashtags every time another story hits the media... What are we going to do? When will true justice be served?

Loss for words....all I have is prayer 🙏🏽prayer for Alton, his kids, his family, his friends...my heart is broken. 💔 What's the solution? Can't just be an Instagram post or a hashtag. My ears are wide open. Where do we start because this is out of control!! I'm angry. I'm sad. I'm worried. I don't even know where to begin.
