Kanye West fans rejoice: Good Ass Job is back, and not only that, it also features Chance the Rapper.
In his hour-long sit-down on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio program on Tuesday (May 24), Chance the Rapper divulged on his much-talked about new mixtape, Coloring Book, but in addition, he also teased a project in the works with Kanye that is purportedly being named after Ye’s previous title for what eventually became My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.
"The main thing we want to connect on is this project called Good Ass Job," Chance revealed. "That’s a thing we talked about a long time ago, and I think everything we’ve been working on together is a piece of it." The title of the project isn’t exactly farfetched, considering the many times that fans called Chano’s 2013 breakthrough mixtape, Acid Rap, as an heir to the lofty title. "My intro for Acid Rap was called ‘Good Ass Intro’ and it was a sample from his Get Well Soon mixtape, and in a lot of ways ‘All We Got’ is the same thing," he continued.
Not diving into the specifics of the project, Chance’s announcement now brings 'Ye’s total of unreleased collaborative albums to four (WTT2 with Jay Z, Wolves with Drake, C.R.S with Pharrell and Lupe Fiasco). But before we all get ahead of ourselves, the fact of the matter is that a project between Chance and Kanye is in the works and now, the world can rejoice.
As far as how their "All We Got" collaboration came together for Coloring Book, Chance said it came via several Kanye freestyle sessions.
"We didn’t necessarily sit down and write together," he notes. "I literally sampled Ye and took what he gave me in a session of freestyles and sat with it and worked with it. He gave me all the pieces to make what I wanted to make. More so than making a traditional project, I think he just wants to help me make the dopiest shit I can make."
