Boosie Badazz is sharing some positive news with his fans today (April 27).
This past weekend, the “Wipe Me Down” rapper asked his fans in the Duval area if they could bring him insulin to treat his diabetes.
“Anybody n DUVAL AREA WITH THIS LANTIS MEDICINE DM ME YOUR NUMBER SO WE CAN MEET‼️” he wrote. “I REALLY NEED THIS.” One woman agreed to bring him the medicine and drove three hours to his home to drop it off.
“I gotta tell this story bruh — how good God is,” he said in an Instagram video. “I ran out of insulin yesterday and this lady drove three hours to bring me insulin. When she got here, I tried to pay her. She said, ‘I don’t want your money.’ She just took a picture and left. This lady went around the corner and won $10,000 on a scratch off.”
Boosie then showed the camera a photo of the winning scratch-off ticket that the woman texted to him. He then continued to say how appreciative he was for the woman.
He continued, “Man, God good bruh. I appreciate you lady and God appreciated you. That’s why he blessed you like that.”
The “Nasty Nasty” rapper was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes as a child. He’s been very open about his diagnosis. In 2008, he spoke to XXL about his condition.
“The first couple of years, I struggled with it,” he said. “I was in and out of the hospital. I just ain’t wanna face the fact that I really had this shit.”
Boosie also admitted that he didn’t treat himself properly at first and it almost cost him his life. “I’d go a month without taking my insulin shots, so I was just throwin’ up, losin’ weight, all kinds of shit. It was hard,” he said.
