Rihanna gave her fans an update about what her forthcoming project will sound like. During the Savage X Fenty Vol. 3 fashion show, the “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer spoke to the Associated Press about her new music, which she says will be “completely different” from her previous work.
“You’re not going to expect what you hear,” she said. “That’s — just put that in your mind. Like, whatever you know of Rihanna is not going to be what you hear. I’m really experimenting and music is like fashion — you should be able to play. I should be able to wear whatever I want and I treat music the same way. So, I’m having fun and it’s going to be completely different.”
So far, Rih has not announced a release date for her anticipated LP. It’s been five years since the pop star released Anti, her critically acclaimed eighth album. The project featured the hit singles “Work,” “Needed Me,” “Love on the Brain” and “Kiss It Better.” Last year, the Bajan beauty said she started recording new music and held “ tons of writing camps.” She even hinted at a possible collaboration with the City Girls.
However, her new Savage X Fenty fashion show is sure to hold her fans over until that time comes. As REVOLT previously reported, the show, which is set to premiere on Amazon Prime on Sept. 24, will feature performances by Daddy Yankee, Nas, BIA, Jazmine Sullivan, Normani, Ricky Martin and Jade Novah. Several other celebs will also appear in the event, including Erykah Badu, Sabrina Carpenter, Vanessa Hudgens and Gigi Hadid.
According to a press release, the show will combine “fashion, dance, music, and iconic architecture” and will highlight “the newest assortment of styles through subtle-yet-impactful scenic elements, lighting and filming techniques.”
