Chris Rock is urging his fans to get vaccinated against COVID-19 after revealing that he recently contracted the virus.

“Hey guys I just found out I have COVID,” the 56-year-old tweeted on Sunday (Sept. 19). Rock further suggested he’s suffered symptoms from the virus, adding, “Trust me you don’t want this. Get vaccinated.”

Rock himself was vaccinated against Coronavirus back in May, which he revealed to Jimmy Fallon on an episode of “The Tonight Show.” At the time, the comedy legend said he received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, which he joked was the “food stamps of vaccines.”

Rock is the latest celebrity to speak publicly about the COVID-19 vaccine following Nicki Minaj’s headline-making comments last week. As reported by REVOLT, the Queen rapper claimed her cousin’s friend suffered impotence and swollen testicles after receiving the vaccine in Trinidad. The Minister of Health for Trinidad & Tobago later refuted the claim.

Then, Nicki told fans she was invited to the White House to discuss her concerns about the vaccine. However, a White House official denied such an invitation was made and said the rapper was instead offered a phone call with a health official.

Most recently, Nicki claimed a reporter from Trinidad & Tobago was harassing her family members for an interview about the debacle. “Leave my family alone you fkng goof,” she tweeted. “Deal with me. Y’all don’t want me to say what I know. U can bully them, but deactivated when I got involved. Clown.”

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration fully approved Pfizer’s COVID-19 vaccine for people at least 16 years old last month. On Monday (Sept. 20), though, Pfizer said an early study has shown that the vaccine is “safe” to use for children between the ages of 5 and 11. The pharmaceutical firm said it will share the study with the FDA “as soon as possible.”
