Boosie’s latest plea to get C-Murder released from prison has been directed at Kamala Harris. On Sunday (Aug. 8), the “Mop Wit It” rapper uploaded a video on social media in which he asked the vice president to look into his friend’s ongoing case.
“So…Kamala Harris, I’m asking you to help my friend C-Murder bro,” Boosie says in the clip. “As president, vice president…I feel like you and [President Joe] Biden can do something about it. This man is innocent. You know… he’s completely innocent, and he was convicted because of, ya know, his rap name and the success of No Limit Records.”
“So, this goes out to Kamala Harris,” he continued. “I need you to look into this man and see this injustice and turn this around. This man got kids. It’s almost 20 years of his life that’s been taken away…you know. So I’m reaching out to Vice President Kamala Harris to look into the C-Murder situation bro.”
As REVOLT previously reported, C-Murder is currently serving a life sentence in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Steve Thomas. For years, he’s attempted to prove his innocence and get his sentence commuted, but he unfortunately remains behind bars. When Donald Trump pardoned several individuals in his final days of presidency, the exclusion of C-Murder’s name elicited an angry response from Boosie.
“Everybody can get a pardon but #cmurder #bullshit #innocentman 20 #years+,” he tweeted. “I’M PISSED THE FUCK OFF TODAY don’t wanna y’all to anybody today so don’t call THANKS.”
Despite the obstacles faced, C-Murder’s fight for freedom continues. Last week, he announced that he was going on a hunger strike to protest the way Louisiana’s Elayn Hunt Correctional Center has been responding to the pandemic. He also alleged that the courts have been hiding DNA evidence that holds the keys to his freedom.
