A lot of people were amazed after Jadakiss’ performance during The LOX’s Verzuz match against Dipset Tuesday night (Aug. 3), but no one was more impressed than Tyler, The Creator.
In the comments section for the Instagram live session for the Verzuz matchup, Tyler gave Jada props for his performance, even saying he might have a crush on the Yonkers rap legend.
“Pause I think I gotta crush on jadakiss,” Tyler wrote. “That nigga confidence and voice control is crazy and he aged well wheesh.”
Tyler’s praise echoes the sentiments of fans across the internet. With his ability to command the stage, competitive spirit and deep catalog of hits and well-respected underground freestyles, Jada proved to be the best part of the showdown between The LOX and Dipset.
While both sides of the Verzuz match appeared to have fun, the internet almost unanimously agreed that LOX took home the W in the matchup, with their level of camaraderie, collective stage presence and vast catalog of memorable songs helping them earn the praise of basically everyone.
Still, as many have already said, the Verzuz match was actually a win for New York City hip hop as a whole, as both groups helped define the genre in the 2000s. On a more immediate, financial level, both cliques have positioned themselves to collect some bags. Ahead of their Verzuz match, both sides announced that they’d be heading on a joint tour.
Styles P announced the tour yesterday, and by the end of the night, The Lox had shared a poster for the tour, which will also feature fellow gangsta rap stalwarts State Property. “Round 1” of the tour will begin in Atlanta on Sept. 16. When it kicks off, you can bet there will be more admirers like Tyler giving their respect to the rap crews.
