With rising Delta cases causing continuous concern in the U.S., Ice Cube decided to lend some assistance to those seeking higher education in Oklahoma. The rapper recently teamed up with Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management to donate face masks to the students on campus at Bacone College.

“We are so grateful today,” the college tweeted on Wednesday (Aug. 25). “Bacone received a donation of 2000 face masks for students from legendary rapper and actor @icecube and Derrick Armstrong of 115 Management. #maskupstaysafe #warriors #baconecollege.”

“We are incredibly grateful to Ice Cube and Mr. Armstrong. This is a generous gift that comes at a time when this virus is experiencing a resurgence in our area,” added Bacone’s college president Dr. Ferlin Clark in a statement.

“We are dedicated to keeping our students safe and healthy, and this will have a lasting impact on our efforts.”

While masks help to prevent the spread of COVID-19, some government and health officials have been pushing for people to get vaccinated, while others are setting up mandates. Within the past few days, the Pentagon announced that all members of the military are obligated to take the vaccine, and President Joe Biden insisted that private companies should require proof of the shots as well.

Busta Rhymes, however, is not a fan of the mask mandates and government-imposed policies. Earlier this week, a clip of his anti-mask speech during a St. Louis performance surfaced and became a trending topic on Twitter.

“No human being is supposed to tell you that you can’t even breathe. Fuck your mask… We can’t eat food with a fucking mask on. We can’t even see each other’s smiles with a mask on,” he vented. “All of that energy gets blocked when our mask is on, and energy is important. We are all conductors of fucking good energy.”
