The vest even received an offer from a major auction house.

When Kanye West’s name is attached to a product, it is almost guaranteed to sell. Recently, a fan of the rapper spent thousands on a vest believed to be worn by Yeezy at his second Donda listening event.

According to GQ, Justin Reed featured the five-pound bulletproof vest — adorned with the word “Donda” in the front and a handwritten signature of the “MBD” on the back — as a listing on his consignment shop after he received it from a security guard, who claimed to get the gift from Ye. The “MBD” etching reportedly stands for the guard’s initials as his name is My Body Different.

As Reed explained, MBD gave up the vest up for an appropriate price, and it received many offers, including one from a major auction house. It ultimately sold for $20,000, which is double the money he was expecting to earn.

The successful sale of the Donda vest comes after the emcee reportedly made $7 million in revenue from selling merchandise at his second listening party on Aug. 5. Prior to that, the Gap website crashed after Ye dropped his $200 zipless blue puffer coat, which earned $7 million off jacket sales in one night.

As REVOLT previously reported, Yeezy is now preparing for his third Donda listening party, which will see a change a location. Unlike the first two events that were held in Mercedez-Benz Stadium, this particular show is set to place on Thursday (Aug. 26) at the Soldier Field in Ye’s hometown of Chicago, Illinois. Per reports, the set will include a replica of his childhood home, which he featured in one of his cryptic Instagram posts.

The release date for Donda has not yet been announced, but the Chicago event will be “a more detailed show” and “on a whole other level” than previous shows, according to Kanye’s friend Ameer Sudan.
