Webbie is in the process of recovering after a medical scare at one of his shows.
According to TMZ, the rapper was performing his hits at the 213 Lux Lounge in Roanoke, Virginia on Friday (Aug. 20) when he was suddenly rushed out of the building. While on his way out, footage captured him as he, surrounded by his security, stopped by a trash can where he struggled to stay on his feet before falling on the ground. His guards initially appeared to call for assistance; they later picked him up and carried him out of the building themselves. Webbie was taken to a nearby hospital where he was treated and discharged.
It’s not clear what caused him to collapse, but a representative ruled out claims that he fell as a result of a seizure.
Aside from the recent release of his Savage Life 6 project — which dropped last October —Webbie, for the most part, has been relatively quiet on the music scene. When it comes to checking on his loved ones, however, he shows up. Last year, after his friend and collaborator Boosie Badazz was shot while in Texas to pay homage to the late Mo3, the “Independent” emcee paid him a visit as he recovered from his gunshot wounds.
“My Nigga Webbie Pulled Up On Me,” Boosie tweeted at the time. “That’s Love.”
Months later, Webbie is now on the lineup for Boosie Bash 3 concert, which will take place next weekend in the “Period” star’s hometown of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Also slated to hit the stage at the Southern University venue are Da Baby, Lil Baby, Yung Blue, Jacquees, Bobby Shmurda, Juvenile, Coi Leray, Mooski and HD4President.
REVOLT sends our prayers to Webbie as he recovers from his unspecified illness.
