Beyoncé fans are rushing to get their hands on her latest Ivy Park drop. The superstar’s new collection became available on adidas.com on Thursday (Aug. 19), where it will stay for 24 hours before launching globally on Friday (Aug. 20). As of 2:00 pm EST, some pieces have already sold out.
As always, the Ivy Park line prompted widespread conversation on Twitter. The rodeo-inspired pieces, which can be shopped here, range in price from $25 to $200 and include sizes XXXS through 4XL.
“Sending good luck and positive vibes to the hive today as we try to secure the ivy park bag,” Netflix’s Strong Black Lead Twitter account wrote.
In her recent Harper’s Bazaar cover feature, Beyoncé said the Ivy Park collection was inspired by her upbringing in Houston, Texas and “the overlooked history of the American Black cowboy.”
“I grew up going to the Houston rodeo every year. It was this amazing diverse and multicultural experience where there was something for every member of the family, including great performances, Houston-style fried Snickers and fried turkey legs,” she told the outlet.
“One of my inspirations came from the overlooked history of the American Black cowboy. Many of them were originally called cowhands, who experienced great discrimination and were often forced to work with the worst, most temperamental horses,” she continued. “They took their talents and formed the Soul Circuit. Through time, these Black rodeos showcased incredible performers and helped us reclaim our place in western history and culture.”
The new collection is also the first Ivy Park line to feature children’s items, which Beyoncé said she was excited to include.
“On our family vacations, we love to coordinate our outfits,” she told Harper’s Bazaar. “My kids are usually on set with me for shoots and we’d find ourselves putting them in extra-extra-smalls so we could match. So, it is a natural progression for IVY PARK to introduce a selection of key silhouettes in children’s sizing.”
