Polo G threw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Chicago Cubs game against the St. Louis Cardinals Saturday (July 10) at Wrigley Field. Donning a Cubs Jersey with Polo Capalot stitched across the back, the Hall of Fame rapper lobbed the baseball over the plate into Cubs’ mascot Clark’s mit. The pitch appeared to fall within the strike zone, prompting the team to post on Twitter, “Put this pitch in the Hall of Fame.”

Polo’s son Tremani “Baby Cap” Bartlett joined his dad on the field and in the skybox after his pitch. The 22-year-old Chicago native seemed to bring several friends with him to the stadium based on videos he posted on his IG stories.

Unfortunately, the rap star didn’t get to see his hometown team win as the Cardinals pummeled the Cubs 6-0. In late June, Polo scored his first No. 1 album by earning 143,000 album-equivalent units, according to Billboard. Polo’s Hall of Fame outsold Migos’ Culture III by nearly 12,000 album-equivalent units. One month after its debut, Hall of Fame is still one of the top five albums on the Billboard 200. Billboard also notes this week that Polo’s ambitious single “RAPSTAR” just became his first No. 1 on Billboard’s Rhythmic Airplay chart per the list dated July 10.

In an interview with Grammy.com, Polo broke down why he chose to name his album Hall of Fame and how the title is simply a reflection of the career he hopes to have. “It was really just lining things up with me being legendary,” he said. “I know I’m gonna be a legend in the game when it’s all said and done. I’ll definitely be one of the greatest rappers to ever do it. So, I feel like naming my album Hall of Fame was just me foreseeing the future.”
