The Marathon Clothing line and Puma have been keeping Nipsey Hussle’s name alive through various collections, and they don’t seem to be letting up anytime soon. In fact, the two brands have come together once again for the launch of a new capsule, which is set to be released on Friday (May 7).
As reported by Hypebeast, the latest TMC and PUMA collaboration, which is reportedly “crafted to represent Hussle’s enduring spirit and legacy,” will include a T-shirt and crisp gray Puma suede sneaker with the brands’ hybrid logo on the heel and insole, which is also decorated with a final gold stamp.
The shoe — which is listed at $80 USD — is endorned in gold fold embellishments and complete with white rubber midsoles. As for the $45 white T-shirt, it features the hybrid logo on the chest and has a size tag that explains TMC’s mission statement.
Nipsey was fatally shot outside of his Marathon Clothing Store on March 31, 2019. Prior to his untimely death, the late rapper worked alongside Puma and created a 19-piece capsule that was released nearly six months after he passed away. Months later, Lauren London paid tribute to the West Coast star in Puma’s “Forever Strong” campaign.
Then, in December of last year, TMC and Puma decided to reissue their debut collaboration, tapping London, YG, J. Stone, Killa Twan and Pacman Da Gunman to make an appearance in the campaign for the re-released collection. In one of the many promotional posts, London donned a white tracksuit as she stood before the aforementioned rappers who all wore black and red tracksuits.
In a second picture, a close up of London’s sweatshirt read, “Our products represent their testimony. Life is a marathon.”
